Prohibited and restricted items

1. Prohibited

Do not send any of the following. Carriage of these items is not accepted.

• Explosives, fireworks, ammunition, and firearms, including imitation firearms.
• Flammable gas, flammable liquids, and other dangerous goods that need specialist carriage.
• Corrosives, poisons, and infectious substances.
• Illegal drugs and anything it is a crime to supply or to carry.
• Live animals, and human or animal remains.

2. Restricted

We may refuse these items, or carry them only when you have told us in writing and we have agreed before you paid. Compensation for loss or damage does not apply to them unless that written agreement says otherwise.

• Cash, vouchers that are as good as cash, jewellery, and precious metals.
• Loose or damaged lithium batteries, and devices with a damaged battery.
• Perishable food, and items that need temperature control.
• Alcohol and tobacco in commercial quantities.
• Items that are inadequately packed, or that leak, stain, or damage other parcels.

3. Size and weight

A parcel must not weigh more than 30 kg. No side may be longer than 1,500 mm. If you under-declare weight or size, we may charge the correct price, refuse the parcel, or return it. A parcel outside these limits is not accepted for carriage.

4. Your check

You are responsible for checking this list before you pay. If we find a prohibited item we may destroy it, dispose of it, or pass it to the police or another authority. We do not have to return it, and we do not have to compensate you for it.

If you are unsure, email us before you book. Do not hand the item to a driver or a collection centre while you wait for an answer.
